I. Preoperative preparation

Equipment inspection

Confirm that the battery is fully charged (it is recommended to fully charge it before surgery, and keep the backup battery on standby);

Test the no-load operating state of the pendulum saw: After startup, there is no abnormal noise, the pendulum frequency is stable, and the speed regulation function is normal;

Check that the saw blade is securely installed (the quick-change device needs to be clamped tightly, and the saw blade should not be loose when pulled gently), and that the saw blade is free from deformation and cracks.

Device compatibility

Select the saw blade of the corresponding specification according to the surgical site (for small bones of hands and feet, prefer thin saw blades with a length of ≤40mm and a thickness of 0.3mm);

Sterilize the saw head and saw blade of the pendulum saw in advance under high temperature and high pressure (do not forget to clean the gaps of the quick-change device).

II. Intraoperative procedures

Operating Specifications

Maintain stability when holding the handle, avoid "operating in midair", and utilize soft tissues around the surgical area or instruments (such as retractors) to assist in fixation;

Before starting the swing saw, it is necessary to place the saw blade lightly against the bone surface (to avoid direct contact with the bone surface after starting at high speed with no load, which may cause the saw blade to bounce);

During osteotomy, employ the method of **"light pressure and slow movement"**: apply slight pressure (avoid forceful pressing) and move the saw blade at a steady speed to ensure a flat osteotomy surface;

Avoid having the saw blade remain on the same bone surface for an extended period (>10 seconds) to prevent thermal damage to local bone tissue (intermittent pauses for cooling are recommended).

Safety protection

The saw blade's moving range should avoid surrounding nerves and blood vessels (such as digital arteries and plantar nerves). If necessary, use a retractor to isolate soft tissues;

It is prohibited to use saw blades to cut soft tissues, sutures, and other non-skeletal tissues, to prevent damage to the saw blades or tissue injury;

When replacing the saw blade during the operation, it is necessary to first turn off the power and operate after the saw has completely stopped. Do not replace the saw blade with power on.

III. Postoperative Management

Equipment cleaning

Immediately after surgery, wipe away the bodily fluids and bone debris on the surface of the machine body. The handpiece needs to be disassembled and cleaned through its gaps to avoid residual tissue debris;

The machine body can be washed with water.

Equipment maintenance

Check the condition of the saw blade after surgery: if there is any curling or deformation, it needs to be replaced promptly;

After use, the saw should be placed in a dedicated equipment box to avoid collision with sharp instruments;

Regularly perform professional maintenance on the pendulum saw: inspect the internal bearings and seals, and add specialized lubricating oil.
